Welcome. My name is Veronica. I've recently moved to Texas from Colorado, with my husband -David of 21 years, and our 8-year-old Son -Samy Lucas. Vivid Felicity happens to be my little home based business that also encompasses everything I create and post on all my media platforms.
This is a place to share my love of all things stitched. Being a self-taught quilter, I'd been sewing on and off for years, never knowing if it was my calling. In 2009, around the time I found out I was pregnant with my only son (of course), I had an urge to begin sewing more regularly. As I practiced and honed in on my skills, my confidence grew and began quilting daily. I've never loved anything more and will never look back!
I've also since discovered I'm a generational quilter. As it turns out, my great-great grandmother was a quilter, and passed these skills on to her daughters. She had earned a living making quilts for the wealthy during her time. As time passed, these skills seemed to have faded. So much of this rich history had been lost in my family. Honestly, I had never really known where my Mom (a home seamstress, though she'd never admit it) nor I, had acquired these skills. Or why it seemed to feel so natural. I'll never forget the times my Grandmother shared her sewing and mending skills with me. As well as the time my great Aunt sent me home with a few of those bonnet girl quilt blocks, when we would go on road trips for visits. They were my very first blocks, but I didn't know it at the time. I miss them both dearly. It's so inspiring to know that my love of quilting has been touched by once being a part of my family's past. Upon that discovery, it's fueled my creative obsession every single day. I'm so excited to be able to contribute to our artistic tradition, and learn more of my family's history.
My love of sewing and quilting has opened many doors to both fresh experiences and new friendships. Making me grateful to have the opportunity to meet some of my fellow quilters, fabric designers, and authors I have admired for years. I have to say I look forward to seeing what more the future holds for my small family and I. As well as what other opportunities might come in my direction.
